Why Adnan Syed Is Not Guilty Essay

Decent Essays
In this essay we will discuss the topic about why Adnan Syed is not Guilty and should be considered a re-trial. Adnan Syed should be given another trial because of his innocence was not proven correctly and the case was just unfair. The evidence that backs this statement and claim is the Call Logs, Jay's testimony/interviews and Best Buy/Timeline/Covering. The first Piece of evidence to introduce is the call logs. The call logs did not match the states timeline nor Jay’s perspective on the timeline how he told the story. If the call logs did not match the timeline how was the police to get hard evidence like Hae’s Car. If they dont matter how can they say Adnan is guilty the timeline can prove his innocence because the incoming/outgoing calls on January 13th are nowhere close to the states timeline. Furthermore, how did Jay know where Hae’s car was and not Adnan. …show more content…
Best Buy is supposedly stated by Jay that Adnan killed Hae and called from a payphone to pick him up. Timeline is the timing of how the day went. Covering is why Jay wiped the shovels and threw away the clothes. Sarah Koenig looked at the Blueprints of the Bestbuy and there was never a payphone there. The timeline of Jay story does not match with call logs and the day described. There is too much leisure time in the way Jay has described the timeline. Also, if Jay is telling the police that he is innocent and Adnan is guilty why wipe the fingerprints and throw the clothes away. The payphone must’ve been somewhere else. Jay probably forgot how the day went for there to be leisure time. He probably did not want to be involved in the first place and did not want to go to the cops at first. Rebuttal Conclusion: If the payphone where to be somewhere else why not mention the place where it was. The amount of leisure time for the day is to suspicious on Jay’s side. The timing of it was very non parallel with the call

But the State’s theory of the case is that Hae was dead by 2:35, and the “come and get me call” was made at 2:36 p.m. If Jay is saying that Adnan told him to expect a call at 3:30 and that Adnan didn’t actually call until 3:40, there’s no way the State’s timeline can work. It just can’t; it’s done.” The two finally agreed on something, but, this doesn’t match up with the State’s timeline. Therefore, the State’s timeline is back to square one.…

After 16 years in prison Mr. Syed filed for an appeal to a new trial because he and others who've read over this case, felt as if he was not granted a fair trial because of newfound evidence(cell phone records, Jay’s inconsistencies, Jay’s consistences, police recordings, letters, timelines, DNA,the pinged cell phone towers, and specific locations) and major errors and mistakes that were made in the case. Adnan Syed was not granted a fair trial, but he is guilty for the murder of Hae Min Lee.…

This case has more twists and turns than a maze. There has never been any hard evidence proving that Adnan killed Hae. Jay is being untruthful about what happened on that fateful night and truth will eventually come to light.…

In this episode, Koenig and Dana attempt to replicate the day’s events according to Jay and the state. She also examines the significance of the cell phone records as related to the route. They both attempted to replicate the day's event and they barely made it and that's that they basically rushed to the points. They also noted that if Adnan did do it he would of been late to track practice. Sarah Koenig states that “It does seem far fetched because there’s no room for any errors.…

The first reason why, Adnan’s trial is unforgivable because of the categorization about his very own case scenario. While going through his very own transcripts from his six-week trial, they were being forced to finish, he wasn’t only be able to try to put the evidence but also on his setting. Their very own analysis of the data couldn’t really be able to find any determined truthful evidence that is being showed at the case to propose that religion was actually motivated to the crime scene. The sources to Adnan’s unacceptable and faith were very persistent throughout the trial. Another, evidence that was starting at the trial that Adnan’s parents wouldn’t be able to accept his own dating ways.…

The second reason I think Adnan must be innocent is because there are too many inconsistencies that Jay provides during his testimony while being interviewed by the police. Jay provides many stories, which sometimes do not match up to Adnan’s story or to the stories he provides. There were many inconsistencies that did not make sense, of which I will share the 3 that I found most important, which you can find in episode 4 called “Inconsistencies". The…

Even with all of this in mind, the court sees him as the main suspect and is not dissuaded by his normal persona. They pin him as Hae Min Lee’s killer by using the jealous boyfriend stereotype. It is also bad for his case when there are phone records and accounts of him acting strange on the day of her murder. Jay seems to be the only one that has a story that is sound enough to have Adnan as the main suspect.…

Things were always being taken out of the story or new details were being added, One of the main things that was never really set in place is where adnan called jay to pick him up. In the first interview with the police jay had said that adnan told him to come a spot where they would frequently get drugs and he said that he got there and adnan showed him hae in her car dead. But in a later interview that was totally gone and a new place was added into the story. Jay now said that adnan called from a best buy pay phone and showed him the body in the parking lot. Later the detectives had Jay draw up a map of best buy with the pay phone on the outside of the best buy.…

Is murder included when he says “anything”or is there a grey area. Going back to his own observations these are what make him the most questionable, Jay remembers way too many details about how Hae looked. If Jay killed Hae that would explain his extensive knowledge on the smaller details of the murder and the changes in story. The things he is sharing could quite possible be his memories that he now has to use to frame someone else unfortunately Adnan being the easy escape-go. Jay killing Hae premeditatively makes more sense she had something that jeopardized Jay’s relationship with Stephanie so her panned out how to kill her and ended up being able to frame…
