Annually, 46 million babies die from abortion worldwide. That’s approximately one baby being aborted every two seconds (Bound4Life, 2009) . Despite how inhumane, abortion has somehow become the newest, accepted version of contraception. It is more than obvious that murder is on the top of the list when it comes to nefarious crimes. With that being said, how is it that the act of aborting live, developing infants is not considered a crime in all states? All lives matter! It may say seem like the only way out, but how does an abortion truly effect a woman? After undergoing the procedure it has been proven that a vast amount of women have obtained psychological damage. A study of the medical records of 56,741 California Medicaid patients revealed that women who had abortions were 160 percent more likely than delivering women to be hospitalized for psychiatric treatment in the first 90 days following abortion or delivery (afterabortion.org, 2010) . Severe Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Insomnia, regret and suicidal ideation are just a few to name. The emotional toll that the loss of a child can bring upon a mother is endless. Despite what some may believe, a woman becomes a mother the moment she realizes that she is pregnant. She is not exempt from the distress that comes along with the loss of a child. This is completely understandable because there are some things that a person must have in this world. One of those needs is power. It is said that when a reproductive choice is left up to a woman, she feels empowered; which is something she may rarely feel living in a “Man’s World.” Stated on abortion.procon.org, people argued that, life begins after the fetus can survive outside the womb. Regardless of what opinions one may have the fact still remains that abortion is murder. Murder; the killing of another human being, is number 6 out of the 10 commandments, stating that thou shalt not kill. It is said that life doesn’t start until that first breath is taken, but it is clearly stated in Psalm 139:13 this has no truth. Once an embryo begins to take formation within the belly of the mother chosen, life commences. Every life matters, despite how long that life has been lived. Abortions should never be an option when it comes to contraception. The indescribable pain an innocent baby endures, the unnecessary psychological damage abortions have on a mother, and the deliberate disobedience of The Lord, Our Savior with the execution of murder, is enough within itself to make anyone question the true legality of abortions.
