Argument In Favor Of Abortion

Nearly half of the population bump heads when it comes to the topic, Abortion. Abortion is defined in the Merriam-Webster dictionary as: "the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus." However, if only the arguments over the abortion topic were as simple as the definition provided above. Much like every aspect of human life, statements are neither right nor wrong, but simply left open for interpretation. In my belief, abortion is deplorable. To start with, you should have never laid down and had sexual intercourse and became pregnant if you knew you did have the ability to keep the child. Yes, I do understand many people make mistakes and mess up as well as I do, …show more content…
How could you kill an innocent child for your own actions? How could you deny an innocent life because having a baby is not in your favor? Just like Jason Ladock, an expert author and administrator in Health Guidance, said “After all, abortion implies denying someone a well-deserved life. Just because the odds are not in our favor, can we deprive someone the chance to live?” Abortion should not be a choice; you should have to suffer the consequences for your own actions. When someone kills an expecting mother, the murderer is charged with double homicide. So, how does a mother go to the point of paying some strangers to dismember the child 's arms and legs during an abortion which results in a deceased child and it not be considered murder? Majority of the population is also for abortion when it comes to someone being raped and becomes pregnant. With that being said it takes at least 16 days for a heartbeat to form which means you can have the egg killed before a heartbeat is formed instead of killing the newly formed human after the fact. Everyone is quick to scream that when a woman gets raped and …show more content…
There are many reasons why people are for abortion. For example, a girl got raped and she did not want to carry the child so she got an abortion. Or for instance, the girl was too young to have a child so she felt as if she was not responsible enough to raise the child so then she got an abortion. Such as Maureen Shaw, Pro-Choice advocate said “As a woman and a pro-choice advocate, I’ve always respected a person’s decision to seek abortion care. But it wasn’t until I became a mother that I really understood their decision. Raising a child is an all-encompassing phenomenon, something you can never understand until you’re in the thick of it—and definitely something you should bypass until you’re ready.” Many women will say abortion is something that should be a right when a female has been raped. Many will also argue that they have the right to choose what happens to their body. And they also argue that if you are raped and forced to have the child you would have a constant reminder of the horrible act that brought your child into this world. Also in some cases the baby could cause health problems for the mother and could cause the mother to die which would bring the mother to have an abortion to save their own life. Another reason why a mother would seek an abortion is if they find out their child has a disability and they do not want to see the child

As any social issue, abortions are one of the many topics that everyone seems to have an opinion on. According to the 2012 Merriam-Webster dictionary, an abortion is, “the termination of a pregnancy after, accompanied by, resulting in, or closely followed by the death of the embryo or fetus as a spontaneous expulsion of a human fetus during the first 12 weeks of gestation--miscarriage, the induced expulsion of a human fetus, or the expulsion of a fetus by a domestic animal often due to infection at any time before completion of pregnancy.” (Elliot) Abortions; like every controversial issue, will most likely never be agreed upon by the human race. In the midst of the controversy, two groups have arose.…

There are many things in life that are thought to be good for some people, but bad for others. This is commonly known as the dissoi logoi, which is intended to help an individual gain a deeper understanding of an issue by forcing the person to consider it from the angle of their opponent. A great example that represents the dissoi logoi is abortion. Abortion is the ending of pregnancy by removing a fetus or embryo from the womb before it can survive on its own. This procedure can happen through medication or the fetus can be surgically removed.…

    Abortion Controversy

Abortion has been one of the main topics in America to produce a plethora of controversy, marking the collision of two values: pro-life and pro-choice. While we know that each side produces a wide variety of points as to why each group believes what they do, we still must be omniscient about the life of the child. Someone who is pro-choice would argue that the woman has the right to her own body and what happens to it; however, taking the side of pro-choice disregards the child’s life. This seems like complete balderdash to me, almost to be noted ignorant. Abortion is wrong to me because it is considered murder, it causes psychological and emotional trauma to the mother, and it teaches people to ignore responsibility.…

Pro Life Vs. Pro Choice “One in three women will have an abortion by the age of 45.” Meaning around 43% of women in the U.S. population will have an abortion some time in their life. The definition of abortion is “the deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy.” Therefore, abortion is immoral and unethical because it is the intentional killing of a human being.…

Pro Choice vs. Pro Life There are many reasons on both sides of this issue of why people believe it is or is not okay to have an abortion. Many believe that it is a woman’s right to choose to end her pregnancy or not. The U.S. Supreme Court has declared that it is a right guaranteed by the Constitution. Many would also believe that in choosing to end her pregnancy, she is committing murder, and that although the child is unborn, it is still a living being with the same right to live as its mother. Pro Choice gives women the right to decide if having a child is right for her, and that choice does not end the moment she becomes pregnant.…

The big question is should we allow women to terminate their pregnancy and get an abortion? The answer is yes it should be allowed, because women have their reasonings for terminating the pregnancy (ranging from pregnancy by rape to not being able to support themselves and a child). It can be a controversial topic when it comes to when the woman wants to have the abortion, because when the woman reaches the 3rd week of her pregnancy the fetus begins developing and can feel what is being done to them. People believe that this is why they should ban abortion, but that’s not the case. Some women won’t know that they’re pregnant until after the 3 week mark and when they start suffering from pregnancy tendencies and habits.…

Abortions are one of the most controversial topics debated, with their being two sides: “pro-life” or “pro-choice”. Pro-life advocates argue that an abortion is a woman's right to choose, and women should be able to make decisions that involve their body and health. Pro-life advocates argue that an abortion is considered murder, with the reason being that an unborn child is living, fully human, helpless and voiceless while developing inside the womb (K, Brown). Although countless individuals feel that abortions should be a woman's right to choose, abortions should be illegal altogether because it denies and deprives the rights of life, can result in medical complications and psychological trauma for women, and because of the fact that a fetus is capable of feeling pain. TFP Student Action states since the…

Abortion by definition is: “The deliberate termination of a human pregnancy, most often performed during the first 28 weeks of pregnancy”. Abortion has, and may always be, one of the most controversial topics to exist. Despite the conflicts against it, I believe that women should be allowed to proceed through an abortion if that’s what they wish to do. Women have a long history of inequality, in some cases we’re still struggling. Throughout history you see women who have no control over how to live their lives or control their own bodies.…

In a modern world the issue of abortion is one of the most controversial because people usually have opposite views about it. From one point of view, abortion is considered to be a sin, murder, and it is condemned. They feel as though each human has a right to live. From the other side, people recognize the right of a woman to manage her body, her life and to decide to birth a baby or not. Some people consider a fetus to be a rightful human being that should be respected, and some people are sure that during the initial stages of pregnancy, a few cells cannot be considered as a real human, and that’s why abortion should be allowed.…

Abortion is a huge problem that has caused a wide range of controversy all over the United States. There are two sides to the problem, which are people who oppose abortion or support it. Abortion becomes a big deal when trying to decide whether a fetus should be considered a human being already when a woman aborts. In my case I believe that a woman should not be able to abort a child inside her unless there is some type of serious medical issue where the child may not come out alive. When a woman aborts a child, they did not want, it is like the killing of another human being who had no say or ever did anything wrong to deserve it.…
