Necessity for Knowledge Most individuals see themselves differently after their college experience. They feel like a changed person who has grown with an abundance of knowledge. Despite the long and rigorous curriculum associate with most degrees, their intelligence level is remarkably raised. The experience is extremely rewarding and opens up many doors. Their education completely revamps their mind and changes their identity. I believe a college education is a beautiful opportunity that everyone should take advantage of if given the chance because it enhances a student’s educational background. As a mother, she is taking classes daily trying to provide for her daughter. Achieving a degree is an important part of her life. If she does not pass her classes and earn a diploma, she will not be able to afford her basic expenses that are necessary to live. This motivates her to keep pushing on and finish school. For Krystal, receiving a college education is not an option. However, she spends many hours commuting to school and has to work long night shifts to pay for her classes. She must earn an education to raise her income and improve her living conditions for her and her daughter. It also proves that there are many reasons to why a student wants to achieve a higher education. Another story called “Frank Snake Church” explores what being college-educated really means in an extraordinary way. Frank was one of the best basketball players of his time and had a bright future ahead of him. He was planning to attend the University of Washington on a basketball scholarship until his mother died. For her sake, he chose to not attend college and give up something important to him in memory of her. He took a break for his passion, basketball, until he was forty-five, and his father passed away.
