“For never was a story of more woe / than this of Juliet and her Romeo” (V.III. 309-310). Two lovers tragically fall to their deaths at the hands of their feuding families. The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet is a play written by William Shakespeare, focusing on the story of two star-crossed lovers that sacrificed themselves for the love of one another. There are many reasons for the death of Romeo and Juliet, but Romeo is the one to blame because he was never supposed to fall in love with Juliet.

Romeo has completely forgot about Rosaline and is in love with Juliet. “With Rosaline, my ghostly Father? No, I have forgot that name and that name’s woe” (II.III.30). He then selfishly asks to marry Juliet and doesn’t even take her father's consent but Friar Lawrence’s. If Romeo wouldn’t have rushed into marrying Juliet so fast and would have thought about it more, then Juliet wouldn’t have had to hide their relationship and risk their live. Some might say that Romeo and Juliet's death was not Romeo’s fault because the Friar did not give him the message that Juliet was going to act like she was dead, but if Romeo just stayed put and did not do anything dramatic then he would not be dead because the friar would wake up juliet and tell romeo.Instead though he killed himself saying, “Here’s to my love! (drinks) O true apothecary! Thy drugs are quick. Thus I die”(V.III. 119-120). These are romeo’s last words saying that he is killing himself because he thinks juliet is dead.
