B. Edward Albee
C. 1961

2. A. The story takes place in the present tense.”I did run the History Departement, for four years, during the war, but that was because everybody was away.” This quotation tells us that George was the leader of the history departement during the war because everyone was gone, the second world war took around four years so I believe that this story takes place in the present tense of the date that the book was written.
B. “The scene” “The living room of a house on the campus of a small New England college.” (page 1) As the quotation above suggests, the story takes place in the region of New England which lays in the north

Her father is the president of the New England college. She talks a lot and she always picks on George, her husband, but she still loves him. “…there are easier things than being married to the daughter of the president of that university.” (Page 29). In this quote we can read that Martha was the daughter of the president of the univesity.

George:

George is the husband of Martha. He is 46 years old and teaches history at the university of the father of Martha. He looks pretty young and lean for his age. “I’m forty something. (Waits for reaction… gets none). Aren’t you surprised? I mean… don’t I look older?” (Page 37). ‘’I’ve always been lean… I haven’t put on five pounds since I was your age.’’ (Page

He is well-built and is good looking. He teaches biology at the same university as George. “Hundred and eighty-five, hundred and ninety… something like that? Do you play handball.” (Page 37). In this quote, George is making guesses about the weight of Nick. Since hundred and ninety pounds is pretty normal for a tall man, we can read that Nick is a well-built man.

Honey:

Honey is a 26 year old woman and she is married to Nick. She is pretty and also a little immature. “Oh, wasn’t that funny? That was so funny…” (Page 26). In this quote we can clearly read that Honey is an immature woman, she was the only person laughing in an uncomfortable situation.

4. A. This book uses the omniscient point of view.

B. The effects of this perspective are pretty big. Because of this point of view, we can not see inside the heads of the characters in the story, we can only see what actually happens and not what they think.

5. A. At the begin of the story we meet George and Martha. Their life is not very good so they hide behind illusions, like their imaginary son. This makes their life way easier.

B. The initial incident is when Nick and Honey arrive. It starts good but the alcohol soon has effects on the temper of the characters. This also leads to multiple

The way I see Martha's case is she was fed up with everything George has put her through. I see it as she only had one way out of the horrible lifestyle she was living in. Martha was worried for her life at first, but as soon as her children's life was at stake, she took action and went to a shelter, although it was only for 3 days. I believe Martha put up with George for her kids so they won’t be living without a father, especially during the holidays.…

n the book, “Of Mice and Men”, the author John Steinbeck presents the relationship between the two characters, George and Lennie, as a parent and son relationship. At the beginning of the book, when the two companions were introduced it is illustrated that “they had walked in [a] single file path and when they came into the open, one stayed behind the other” (Steinbeck, 2). With regard to this example, the individual who portrays an authoritative parent in this relationship is George, whereas Lennie is the innocent and dependent child. The first feature that makes their relationship a loving parent and child relationship is the fact that they rely on each other for help and in Chapter 1, this idea is further developed in preparation of their…
