Transformational Leadership
Transformational approach to leadership can be described as the effective and genuine effort made by a leader. Such a leader provides inspiration, motivation and most importantly, experiences change alongside his or her team members. Approaching organizational situations through increasing employee motivation, morale and job performance, a transformational leader affects his or her team members through their personal sense of identity and self-concept to create a vision of organizational identity as a whole. These leaders act as strong role models for all who follow and challenge their team members to take accountability for their performance allowing such leaders to properly align team members in areas they excel to enhance job performance and success. It is up to the leader to minimize and capture the challenges and not exacerbate them. Gender differences can work to the benefit of the leader whether they be approaching leadership with a transformational style or team-based. Men are more tactical, analytical and task-based and women are more social, transformational and communicative.
