Whole Foods Markets, founded in 1980, is a leader in the natural and organic food evolution with locations across the USA. The company has expanded its market worldwide with current operations in various countries, such as Canada and the UK, and has become the most successful company among healthy food retailers in the United States. This SWOT analysis will discuss the most important issues of strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. The strengths and weaknesses are connected to internal factors such as the nature and strategies of the company, and the opportunities and threats related to external factors in the grocery and health food store industry.

This can shift the consumers away from Whole Foods Market. There is a potential rise in GMO (genetically modified organisms) products in the market, which means less satisfaction with their organic products. Another big threat is climate change due to global warming, which has the potential to reduce the food production. This threat is very difficult to solve as it is a global issue that involves many stakeholders.

After the discussion of Whole Foods Market’s SWOT ANALYSIS we came to the conclusion that the company’s most important strength is the high quality of its products, and the Whole Foods’ greatest weakness is its dependency on the American market. On the other hand, their biggest opportunity is to expand globally to make the company more profitable. However, they cannot fix the issue of global warming and the major threat that can build up for GMO products.
