Since Bruce Ismay forced Captain Smith to speed up the boat, maybe Bruce Ismay thought that they could go right through the iceberg because the ship was unsinkable supposedly. At the time Captain Smith could of ignored him and slowed down the ship so they had less of a chance they would hit an iceberg. If Captain Smith slowed the ship so everybody could of being on the lookout for the day. Even captain smith could of just told the crew members on deck to be on lookout for the day.
