Who was the Cause of Romeo and Juliet’s Death? Romeo and Juliet’s death was the tragic ending of Romeo and Juliet but no one really knows who could have been the cause of their deaths. Romeo and Juliet had such a tragic ending that could have been caused by many people but specifically Friar Lawrence, the Montagues, the Capulets, and Tybalt. They could have been at fault for Romeo and Juliet’s death. Romeo and Juliet both died at the end because each of them didn’t want to live without each other. In the play, Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare, Friar Lawrence, the Capulets, and the Montagues are the cause for the tragic ending. Friar Lawrence is one of the people who could be the cause for Romeo and Juliet. Friar Lawrence was the one who came up with the plan for Juliet to take the potion that will make everyone think she is dead so she won’t have to marry Paris. Once he killed Mercutio, he then Romeo got involved which killed Tybalt. If Tybalt didn’t kill Mercutio than Romeo would have never gotten involved and got banished. Romeo is not banished from Verona. Since Romeo is now banished he can’t see Juliet who’s father wants her to marry Paris even though she’s married to Romeo. After Capulet threatens Juliet by disowning her, Juliet is told by Friar Lawrence that she can take a potion that would make everyone think she is died for 42 hours.
