Early this morning, horror enveloped the hearts of Scotland as the news spread of King Duncan’s untimely death. Ruthlessly murdered in his sleep by his two drunken chamberlains, and the king’s own sons suspected of hiring them. If proven true, the king’s heart most likely would have broken without the aid of the brutal knife wound. Upon the grisly discovery by the Thane of Fife, Macbeth, Thane of Glamis, apparently blinded by his sorrow instantly and without further ado executed the guilty chamberlains. A man who has bravely and unfalteringly served Duncan through peaceful as well as difficult times and who just received immense honor for victories in war would seem the obvious choice. In a few short days, Macbeth will become the land’s new ruler with his fair lady by his side.
Riding high on a great victory one day, to drowning in the crashing loss of a much loved King the next, Scotland seems ready to be engulfed by this crushing wave. Yet the future holds hope in the hands of their new King, Macbeth. Together with his lady, he will support the people through their grief, lead them through inevitable wars and become a light to them in times of darkness. Now, throughout the land, there yet exists a hope within the people of Scotland, that all is not lost, the consequences of Duncan’s murder will catch up to the killers and that justice will prevail in the
