Who Was Responsible For Conrad's Recovery

1) Conrad’s symptoms are that he is experiencing serve depression, anxiety and PTSD. There was a scene if him lying in bed and his farther walks in to ask him if he is going to get up today. He also seems to have generalized aniexty during the movie he is always seems to be in a tense state his shoulders never really relax. His eye movements seem to be a little jagged and it almost like he is constantly nervous. Conrad is suffering from Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, since the sailing accident he feels responsible for the death of his brother. I believe Conrad may be experiencing agoraphobia everytime he was in the presence of his peers and others he looked as if he wasn’t their emotionally but was their physically. His behaviors showed that he was to just going through the motions and not really living for himself. As Dr. Berger was trying to allow Conrad to begin making decision in his life and not watch everything go by.

However I do think they had a contributing factor to his recovery. For example after Conrad came home from the long-term psychiatric facility, he felt his mother hated him. He felt that he was solely responsible for his brother’s death. Although it was evident Beth wasn’t as close to Conrad as Calvin cared for him. Through his arguments and falling-outs with his mother, he eventually realized that he is not responsible for Beck death. With that He finally recognized that his mother need to heal and mourn the fact that beck is gone. In the movie there was a scene that Beth was in Beck room and she was bringing in fresh laundry as if he was still living with them. It seems that she still need time to accept the fact that he is
