Martin Luther King Jr. was a pastor, activist, humanitarian, and a great leader for the African-American Civil Rights Movement. He was born on January 15, 1929 in Atlanta, Georgia. His legal name was Michael King and so was his fathers but the reason they changed their names is to honor the great reformer Martin Luther.
