He signed a contract with Charles Blair for lots of pikes to help defend the slaves. The article states that John Brown signed a contract with Charlie Blair for 1,000 pikes, each for $1. He also intended to use the pikes to arm slaves and try to spark a revolt. the facts indicate that he only wanted Pikes to arm slaves. He even stole weapons from the Harpers Ferry. He died while still making changes for the slaves. A lot of the sources state that he died miserably, but he paid the price of lying, killing, and committing multiple crimes. He had justice served to him by death, if he hadn’t died he would have committed more crimes and would have risked many other slave lives. He still made a big change for the slaves, while having justice served. This evidence proves that John Brown is a hero because he paid the price by facing death for his controversial actions. John Brown would’ve only learned if he had faced death, than to get away from it.
