Who Was Jesus? Throughout history, the idea of Jesus; who he was; what his purpose was, and even his existence has been questioned. But through many readings and accounts from his followers, it can be seen that those who did follow him, and did believe him and believe in him, saw him as many things. His followers saw him as a teacher, a healer and, most importantly, as Messiah, or Christ, who would be the Saviour of the world. To his followers, Jesus was Messiah (Christ), Son of God. While at first, they were not fully aware they were speaking of the Messiah, they did know that Messiah was coming. It would eventually be revealed by Jesus himself that he was Messiah. "I know Messiah (called Christ) is coming. When he comes he will explain everything." To which Jesus replied to the woman who had spoken the words, "I, the one speaking to you-I am he." (John 4:25-26) Telling the rest of the people what she had heard and what Jesus had said to her, that he knew everything about her, many of the people became believers. For those that still did not believe, they invited Jesus to stay with them for several days, and upon hearing him speak during his stay, they too came to believe that Jesus was the Savior. While Jesus covered many subjects when teaching the fulfillment of the law: adultry, murder, divorce, oaths, love and giving; he also taught a lot about prayer.
