Henry was born in 1868, on July 30th in Dearborn, Michigan. When Henry was young he took an interest in how full sized steam engines worked. Mr. Ford was so intrigued by machines, in 1879 he left his home to pursue jobs that would give him the opportunity to learn more about these machines. He was married in 1888 to a Clara Bryant. Around 1896 he had become the chief engineer of the Illuminating Company in Detroit. But Henry had other hope in dreams he set out to be one of the people trying to build the horseless carriage. With the work of some friend, they were able to make the first carriage, called the Quadricycle. The group of friends then made a second car around 1898.
