Have you ever ran away from a problem in your life? There are many instances during “The Outsiders” when characters run away from their problems. ““Hop the three-fifteen freight to Windrixville.””(61) After Johnny had killed the Soc, Ponyboy and Johnny run to Dally for help, and he said hop the freight and get to jay mountain and hide in the abandoned church. ““He ran out like the devil was after him. He’s gonna blow up. He couldn’t take it.””(152) When Johnny had died it pushed Dally over the edge, so he tried to run away from the reality that Johnny is dead.
