What Is The Theme Of Who Moved My Cheese

The book I chose and read as a self-help book focusing on psychology is “Who Moved My Cheese?” which I wanted to read for long. It is written by M.D. Spencer Johnson. The genre of it is lifestyle. The purpose of the book is to give the readers lessons about how to deal with unexpected changes in our life. It is a short story about two mice, Sniff and Scurry, and two little people, Hem and Haw, who live in a maze. Their food is cheese. One day, their cheese is gone and two mice are well-prepared to find for new cheese while two people cannot believe and are complaining someone who moved the cheese. Finally, Haw realizes the cheese is actually gone, decides to look for new cheese source, and finds a better cheese station but the his friend Hem is stuck at the old place hoping that the cheese would be back. The theme of the book is changes are natural and how to deal with it successfully when we have to face it. If we do not have back up plans for changes, we would have to struggle in pain to accept it and live with it when it came. In life, we can face changes at work, with friends, or just with the people surrounding us. Also, I become self-reflective and I will try to stay alert with my surrounding. It used a remarkable story to illustrate and to relate with our real lives. It is simple and very easy to understand to compare to other self-help books I have read. Also, it is short and to the point with the message it illustrates. I would definitely recommend this book to my family and friends especially to friends who fail in their relationship with their significant other. I felt so encouraged to move on in my life regardless of my losses and failures. I will always remember this story whenever I deal with changes in my
