At the end of the Civil War, the total amount of soldier casualties were at approximately 620,000 deceased. The slaves were freed. The North and South were reunited. Reconstruction was a plan to rebuild the South, although the plan was a failure and was discontinued in 1877. Who was responsible for ending Reconstruction?
