Poachers should be punished for their actions. According to Damian Carrington, writer for Newsela, says that the number of rhino are declining. "Poaching has escalated recently, and the species' numbers are quickly declining"(Carrington). The rhinos horn is made of a very valuable substance called ivory. Ivory has many different uses including myths about healing purposes and ornamental carvings. Ivory is very expensive but has been banned from being traded or transported. Poachers are illegally killing rhinos to harvest their horns and leave the rest of the body to rot. The numbers of rhinos are declining at a rapid rate. People that kill rhinos should be punished.
