In the great gatsby and in the 1920s, woman were mentally weak. Woman did not have the guts to tell the truth, instead they covered everything with lies. So if something wrong happened, they did not have to tell their husbands. Nick explains how he does not blame woman for lying. He say’s “dishonesty in a woman is a thing you never blame deeply.”[Fitzgerald, F. Scott. 48]. In the book woman only show care for their possessions they ignore everything else this is a sign of weakness because they should be more intelligent.
