William Shakespeare wrote many plays that had to do with these “characters”. There have been many different suspicions of what caused their deaths, yet what people do not know is who was to blame.
Romeo and Juliet, was written as a love story, and a tragedy. Although Romeo and Juliet got married, they brought the Montagues and the Capulets together. The Capulets and Montagues were very large rivals that would do anything but love each other. Romeo loved Rosaline until he went to the party at the Capulets’, and later fell in love with Juliet and were soon to marry. As Shakespeare wrote in the prologue of “The Tradgedie of Romeo and Juliet”, “A pair of star-cross’d lovers take their life” (DBQ:Project, 2013). This means that love will take over their lives and they would love each other forever. In this case, this would be the way of bringing the Capulets and the Montagues together to end the feud. Having them married would change their lives, and their families forever.

The adults were to blame for the deaths of Romeo and Juliet because of miscommunication. Romeo and Juliet are dead because they received the wrong message. Friar Lawrence and Friar John did not deliver the right message at the right time which caused Romeo and Juliet to kill themselves. Have you ever wonder what it is to be with someone who you don’t know in a love relationship?Falling in love at first sight is ridiculous, for two persons have to know each other and have time to form a true love relationship. The first time I read Romeo and Juliet I was shocked at how dramatic this two characters were since the beginning Romeo and Juliet were saying that they were “met for each other”.since that instance I could see how this two characters were going to be as the acts passed by. Although for shakespeare this might be kind of valid because love at that time it meant a drama that had a happy ending. From what I could see in the story this were two powerful families who lived at the same town who had to share with. Romeo quoted “love is a smoke raised with the fume of sighs;Being purged, a fire sparkling in lovers' eyes;Being vexed a sea nourish'd with loving tears:What is it else?”Obviously this would make this two families to constantly being fighting with each other, and more bad would be that two individuals from their families are in love.…

In this play, their deaths are at the fault of Friar Lawrence who, being an adult, a man of God and a trusted person in the community, betrayed that trust and kept a foolish the secret of Romeo and Juliet in hope that it would end the feud between the two families, the Capulets and Montague’s. Not only was Friar Lawrence the man who agreed to bond both Romeo and Juliet in marriage; he was also the brains behind the plan of getting them together after Romeo’s banishment without weighing out the consequences and realizing how destructive their love is throughout it all. Friar Laurence’s interference in the families of Romeo and Juliet set much of the fighting, rage and death of these characters into motion.
