Who Is To Blame For Romeo And Juliet's Fault

Of course, we are humans and every human makes mistakes. Which is alright but making so many to where it costs lives, and a tremendous amount of sadness is not okay. In “The Tragedy of Romeo and Juliet” by William Shakespeare there are many characters that could be put to blame, but in my opinion it was Juliet’s omission. She is the reason for almost every fault that happens, and if it wasn’t for her, a lot of those mishaps wouldn’t have happened. First off, Juliet had known that both the Capulet’s and Montague’s had had a very deep hatred for eachother, and although she knew she still decided to try to get to know Romeo more. Once she had found out he was a Montague, that didn’t stop her and since she was in “love” and nothing was going to stop her from being with her beloved Romeo, she decided to disobey her parents rules and married Romeo anyways even though her love was her only enemy (Shakespeare 396). …show more content…
She first started off by lying to her father saying that she won’t be with Romeo and that she will marry Paris. Also, she lied to not only Paris, but her whole family about her unexpected “death” even though she had only drank a vial that put her into a deep sleep for forty-two hours, which not only hurt her family, but completely crushed Romeo when he heard the news. Lastly, she lied about her love for Paris, agreeing to marry him even though she was already married to Romeo and having the Friar go along with it (Shakespeare 471). Another reason why Juliet is to blame is because she basically was acting so naive and childish throughout this whole story, although she was young she didn’t really think things through for too long and just decided to do whatever she could to get her out of the mess she was in even if that meant making up a huge lie and then piling another lie on top of that and so on, she was just fighting fire with fire and making a bigger

Particularly, Romeo is at fault because, as a character, he makes rash decisions that result in inferior consequences in the future. Notably, he neglects to tell his parents that he plans to marry Juliet; therefore, he creates a situation in which no one is aware that Romeo and Juliet are wedded. Another key point is that Romeo kills Tybalt for revenge when Tybalt slays Mercutio in the streets of Verona. Earlier in the first act the Prince of Verona notifies the Capulets and Montagues that if they were to ever fight in the streets again than the families would have to pay with their lives. Consequently, Romeo did not assess the seriousness of the situation, and he fought Tybalt in the streets.…

In Romeo and Juliet the three to blame was Balthasar, Tybalt, and Romeo. I think the least to blame is Romeo because he was the one who killed Tybalt. Balthasar is then blamed next because he saw Juliet and her funeral and told Romeo she was dead. Tybalt is then the most to blame because he is the one to kill Mercutio and caused trouble. The least to blame is Romeo.…

There are many people you could blame for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet, but one might also say the two households are responsible for the tragedy of Romeo and Juliet. An example of how the capulets play a part in this is when lady capulet says “Marry that ‘marry’ is the very theme I came to talk of. Tell me, daughter Juliet, how stands your disposition to get married”(Line fourteen, Act one Scene three, and Document B), the person one would blame in this quote would be the families(Capulet). This shows Lady Capulet is trying to pressure Juliet into getting married. Even after juliet says that she does not want to get married, her mother keeps pushing her into getting married by asking if she can “like of Paris’ love”( Line twenty four, Act…

A quote regarding blame is excerpted out of the book, It’s Not My Fault: The No-Excuse Plan for Overcoming Life’s Obstacles written by Dr. Henry Cloud and Dr. John Townsend, “We live in a culture of blame. People will blame anyone or anything for their misery sooner than take the responsibility to own it and make it better”. This quote strongly agrees with the idea of other factors whom are to blame for Romeo and Juliet’s death because it speaks of people blaming others for things that they could have done, and in this case Romeo and Juliet can blame many people for their deaths, but at the end of the day it is truly them who committed suicide and ended their deaths. People are afraid to come forward and take responsibility of the things they did, so they resort to pointing fingers and endlessly coming up with excuses as to why the scenario occurred, but upon realizing the true cause of the situation, themselves, they can dissect what happened and prevent something like that from ever occurring…

Shakespeare develops the idea that love leads to rash decisions through the behavior of the characters Juliet and Romeo. Romeo and Juliet, a play written by William Shakespeare, is about a pair of “star-cross’d lovers” whose hasty decisions lead them to their tragic deaths. This play explains how the immaturity of Romeo and his extreme emotions affect the decisions he makes concerning himself and also his family. Most of the characters in the play, though thoughtful at first, later begin to make decisions without putting much thought into them. Also, not all the characters hold themselves accountable for their actions, even in the most critical situations. In this play, the immaturity, impatience, and irresponsibility of Romeo and Juliet, even in their quest of love, lead them to their downfall.…
