John Tyler being the first Vice President to move to President obliviously had an interesting story, and I want to tell you what he did for America. Tyler was in the House and was Governor of Virginia being a Democratic-Republican, but when he was nominated for Vice President he became part of the Whig Party. Tyler ran with William Henry Harrison and they won, unfortunately, Harrison died a year after he took office, so Tyler took over the position of President. When Tyler became President, the Whigs did not like Tyler becoming Presidents because they never passed any of their proposed bills, but luckily they finally agreed on a few bills. Congress appealed the Judiciary Act of 1801, which would permanently placed Federalist in positions of 16 circuit courts.
