The “Hunger Games” is a dystopia novel written by Suzanne Collins. Is the character in the novel, Haymitch Abernathy a good mentor to Katniss and Peeta is a question been widely debated. In my opinion, even though Haymitch is drunk, but he still keeps sober sometimes to give Katniss and Peeta instructions and he is caring for them all the time, trying to get them sponsors and any sort of help. Therefore, Haymitch Abernathy is a good mentor to Peeta Mellark and Katniss Everdeen.…

One obstacle includes the tracker jackers, which are genetically engineered wasps created by the Capitol, where being stung can result in hallucinations or death. “Is falling in love with someone’s story the same thing as falling in love with the person himself” (Condie 196). I caught myself reading this quote repeatedly; is it really possible to fall in love with somebody’s words and not the person themself? In this novel, Cassia is a young, beautiful teenager who has always allowed society to make her decisions for her. When her best friend, Xander, has been chosen to be her Match, she is elated and knows he is the one for her. This is true until another persons picture appears on her screen, now everything changes.…

The literary elements the author used in Chapter 3, 4, and 5 is Allusion, Amplification, and Characteristics, and Anthropomorphism. And the reason why I think the author choose Allusion is because in this Chapter they are heading to the train station so they can go to the Capitol. And the reason why I think the author Amplification is because Effie is telling Peeta and Katniss in the train what will be happening and thing they will do and people they will met when they reach the Capitol. This Chapter is about when Katniss is saying Goodbye to her family, friends, and people who care about her family and upset that she volunteer in the Hunger Games for her sisters. When, Katniss volunteered for her sister and read how her sister was screaming the word, "No" to her.…

The fact I went so long without reading The Hunger Games is crazy to me. After finishing the series last summer I became hooked and completely understand why everyone else has been “volunteering as tribute” for years. Katniss is a fantastic, strong character that takes on the challenges presented to her in a realistic way. She does not just coast through the games, we see her struggle, and suffer, and eventually survive (which hopefully isn’t a spoiler for you). I love that she is smart and can think herself through problems when needed.…
