Who Is The Protagonist In Flowers For Algernon

The film “Flowers for Algernon”, is about how a man that is not so intelligent as other humans starts to become smart. So the story all starts by him having a interview with scientist to see who will be the person who would be perfect to do the operation on. Soon they find Charlie, Charlie has a job like most people do, but he doesn't know that his so called friends are bullying him due to his intelligent which is low, he takes a test to see if he can beat Algernon on a race in a maze, he doesn't win in the began and become upset and says that a rat a smarter than him. Then after all the test they do an operation to see if he will become smart. Charlie retakes the test with Algernon and wins, he start to learn and learn and become smarter …show more content…
He later leaves after they have talked and goes to the lab and see Algernon dieing in his cage he holds him, he then dies in Charlie's hands. Charlie starts to cry and runs outside he buries Algernon next to a tree and put his necklace that he had with Algernon. The next day he leaves a letter for Ms. Kinnian which says to meet him on campus. She goes to see Charlie and Charlie tells Ms. Kinnian about Algernon, and says that they can’t be together because he is going to dumb and that he won’t remember the relationship him and Ms. Kinnaina had, he also say that he is going to a place where they will be taking care of Charlie and that he won’t see Ms. Kinnian, after that he went back to get his bakery factory job back, his boss says yes. The next day charlie goes to school and is dumb again Ms. Kinnian see’s that he has changed and starts to cry. When class was over charlie goes up to Ms. Kinnian and gives her a hug and says sorry for whatever he did and to not be sad for him, also he says if she could do him a favor which was to put flowers on algernon's
