Loneliness is the quality of being unfrequented and remote or isolation. Being lonely is almost always connected to relationships between people, or the lack of socialization. Mother Teresa once said “Loneliness and the feeling of being unwanted is the most terrible poverty.” In the novel Of Mice and Men author John Steinbeck reveals the true meaning of loneliness throughout his characters. The loneliest character in Of Mice and Men is Crooks because he is the only African American on the ranch, he is forced to live alone and he has nobody to talk to.
