This was one of the best short stories I have ever read. A good man is hard to find required me to think critically and to ask questions. This short story was about a family who decided to take a family vacation. Many families take vacations to get along with one another and to create family memories. This family was hoping to accomplish this very goal. They make a pit stop to feed the family. While at the restaurant, the staff and the family were gossiping about the misfit who broke out of jail. This misfit would be the very reason this family doesn’t get the opportunity to enjoy the vacation because he murders each family member in cold blood after the vehicle crashed off the road. Is the misfit the wrongful character in this story? Or were the events leading up to the crash result in the death of this family?

“In death, she appears like a child”’ smiling up at the cloudless sky,’” she has found grace”(Bryant). I believe this statement because the bible says in Matt.10:39 “whoever finds their life will lose it”. When her life is in danger she finds everything good in the misfit.” God is a God; He can do whatever he wants- even save people like the grandmother and the Misfit” (Bethea). God is the only righteous judge and he sees good and all of us.
Although it may well be true that murdering someone is unethical, it also important not to overlook the guidelines Christians have been ordered to live by. I believe the moral of the story is it very important to understand the rules and regulations of being a Christian at all times. If Christians don’t, it could result in death. Also, every person we come in contact with may not have the same moral values as we
