The magical story begins with two children, Digory and Polly, who meet in the summer, looking for an adventure. Therefore, they decide to travel through the attic passages of their adjoined houses to get into an unoccupied house and explore it. However, they take the wrong door to Digory’s Uncle Andrew’s study. Uncle Andrew tricks Polly into touching a mysterious yet strangely attractive yellow ring. As soon as Polly touches the magical ring, she immediately disappears, without the slightest warning. To Digory’s shock, Jadis is in the garden, and she advises Digory to steal the fruit and take it back to his mother in order to cure her. Digory resists her offer and brings the apple back to Aslan. Aslan then orders Digory to plant the apple’s seeds. The apple tree grows in no time, and Aslan explains to the Narnians that this tree will protect them from the evil witch, Jadis. Digory, Polly and Uncle Andrew are sent back to England, where Digory feeds his mother another apple given to him by Aslan in order to cure her. She makes a full and miraculous recovery. Digory's father comes home, and they enjoy a happy life in the countryside, where Polly is their frequent visitor. The children also follow Aslan's orders and bury the magic rings, so no one will be tempted to use them ever
