Coghlin Company a family owned fourth generation, American production company, is located in Westborough, Massachusetts. The Coghlin Company started in 1885 due to John Coghlin’s hard work and dedication. John P. Coghlin, the founder of Coghlin Company, was an engineer and manufacturer. John Coghlin started the Columbia Electric Company first, manufacturing dynamos and motors for electric power plants 1. before starting the Coghlin Company. In 1885, John P. Coghlin purchased a company by the name of Columbia Electrical Contractors. This name was retired and became Coghlin Electric.
