Millennialism In Israel Analysis

In that view, the church replaces — or as they would say — “fulfills” — Israel. There is no further national program for Israel nor is there a future earthly kingdom lasting for 1000 years with Christ ruling from Jerusalem. This millennial (which means 1000 years) view is called Amillennialism (meaning: no literal millennium). I reject that view in favor of what’s called Premillennialism which basically says that Christ will return before the millennium to set up His 1000-year kingdom on earth. I’ll leave it there. Confusing, huh? Don’t worry. No quiz.

As already stated, Antiochus is one of the clearest types of Antichrist in the Bible. The Abomination of Desolation he committed is clearly both an event that happened in the 2nd century B.C. as well as a future event that will happen half-way through the tribulation period of Daniel’s 70th week. Types in the Bible can be either events or people in the Old Testament that fulfil a type of its future anti-type. The historical type will share various qualities with its future anti-type. These qualities can be in the form of an event or personal characteristic. Typology is useful in prophetic study because many of the very same events that have already taken place may likely happen in some form again involving the type’s anti-type. Jesus is the most common anti-type found in the Bible because most types in the Old Testament point towards Him. But there are also types pointing to other things like the Antichrist. The Sabbath Day — the day of rest in the Old Testament — is a type pointing to the ultimate day of rest, the

Through an investigation of the hermeneutical and archeological evidence available, Yamauchi argues that there is little reason to doubt that Daniel should be attributed to the sixth century B.C. Archaeological Background The main idea of this article is to reason that the available archaeological evidence testifies to a sixth century dating of the book of Daniel. First, Yamauchi explores the considerations given to Nebuchadnezzar. Here, the author brings into question the idea of the historical validity of a Babylonian campaign against Jerusalem. Yamauchi points to Wiseman’s observation that “the Chaldean Chronicles…indicate that Nebuchadnezzar claims to have conquered ‘all Hatti land,’ that is, Palestine, in 605, proving that an actual…

Since the time of John, the Christian view of the apocalypse has changed drastically. From The Book of Revelation casting out the sinners and releasing plagues upon the world, to The Book of Daniel symbolizing the rise of empires that would ultimately wipe out most culture, Christianity has had several ideas of the end of the world. After the death of Jesus, Christianity would really begin to spread again starting around 400CE with the fall of the Roman Empire. Over about a 1000 years span the views of Christianity and its apocalyptic views will change from about 400CE to 1000CE. This can be demonstrated over many different intervals of time starting with the fall of the roman empire, going to the middle ages and then ending around the time…

Three years ago I traveled with my colleagues to Israel. My stay was two months in Israel where I had an unforgettable experience. I visited many historic and significant places for myself as a Jew. To realize to this trip we had a requirement and it was that we have no choice to go to the army. The highest risky time I have experienced was during that trip in the army; the first time that I was going to defend a Country, I was on Israel border with Syria, and I carried and used a gun.…

Joanne, we can with certainty agree that Israel is a resilient nation fueled by their national power influenced by a strong spiritual infrastructure.1 I do appreciate your illustrations of how the all those who assume various leadership roles in Israel work together to protect and serve the people by teaching them survival skills. The Middle East has been a tinderbox almost since the beginning of time due to original sin. I do agree that the animosity between Israel and Palestine is political; however, there is animosity contributed to Muslims (Islam) contending that the descendants of Ishmael rightly own the land; whereas, Israel (Judaism) was promised the land, since God’s covenant was with Isaac (Genesis 17:19). I wrote about resilient…

Introduction Daniel chapter 4 holds an interesting position within the book of Daniel, as it is the only section that was authored by King Nebuchadnezzar. This is made clear from the opening of the chapter which clearly states, “King Nebuchadnezzar to all peoples.” Daniel chapter four is not a letter written to inspire a body of believers, it does not stand to describe battles fought on the battle field. Daniel four is a story.…

Reflecting on Judaism as Christian As a Christian learning about Judaism, there have always been thoughts of why Christianity doesn’t fall in line with more of the Jewish traditions and celebrations of their festivals. The Bible calls the Israelites God’s chosen people and throughout the Old Testament He show His love for them, by the way He led them by a pillar of smoke by day and by a pillar of fire at night. Comparing the old covenant to the new covenant, the bile says “not like the covenant that I made with their ancestors on the day I took them by their hands to lead them out of the land of Egypt.…
