Who Is The Character Eckels In Ray Bradbury's A Sound Of Thunder

In “A Sound of Thunder” by Ray Bradbury, the main character Eckels was a big game hunter. Eckels is cocky about hunting all kinds of animals in the world, except for a dinosaur. For that reason he decides to sign up for an expedition that travels back in time with a time machine and hunts the most deadliest dinosaurs in the past. Eckels is sure of himself and thinks there is nothing that could scare him. They finally arrived in the past and went over the rules. The dinosaur with red marked over him at last appeared. Eckels wanted to back out and leave, but they could not. Eckels was told by Travis to go back to the time machine, Eckels did not want to listen to him. The moment Eckels walked in he was greatly disliked by the others because of his actions. Eckels bragged about the animals he has hunt saying, “I’ve hunted tiger, wild bear, buffalo, elephant, but now, this is it” (Bradbury 236). Maybe he hunted many animals, but he himself does not believe himself what about to happen. He is so excited about killing the dinosaur that he is shaking like a kid. He thought he was a superstar of some sort or something because of all his trophies from hunting. These actions led to all the member of the group to dislike
