This month I read the book, Amulet The Stonekeeper, by Kazu Kibuishi. It is a graphic novel that is about 180 pages long. I chose this book because it is very interesting and creates suspense.
This story takes place in a car as a flashback to when the Emily’s father dies. The family has to leave their home because the mother can no longer afford it so she takes her family to an old house that she inherited. Later then, Emily finds the amulet while cleaning.
The main character, or protagonist is Emily. Emily is thirteen and new to the town and is having a hard time being calm with her new start, but she is still trying to make the best of things. Emily is very confident and is a great big sister to her brother, Navin.

I chose the book Serpent’s Shadow by Rick Riordan for my IR summative because I thought a book that includes action, drama, and mythology all in one would be really exciting. Since I don’t see books with Egyptian mythology very often, I thought getting to know a little bit of it would be fun while reading a good story. This book was packed with action and had a good twist of drama and mythology to it. The story was very entertaining because the author is really good at describing what was going on and using really good cliffhangers, so that the reader would keep reading the book..…

The Sparrow On Friday, November 18, 2016, my wife and I saw the 7:30 showing of The Sparrow, a play written by Chris Matthews, Jake Minton, and Nathan Allen. The play is about a high school girl (Emily) returning to her former school after a tragic accident in the second grade, in which she was the only survivor, forced her to move and attend a different school. Although this makes her loved by the students and teachers alike, a tryst with a popular male teacher (Mr. Christopher) fuels a jealous rage from Jenny, leading to Emily attacking Jenny with her powers. The town’s people view her behavior as rational for her to not want to give up his body. We know they thought this because they stated “we did not say she was crazy then.
