Who Is The Antagonist In The Chocolate War

All stories include a protagonist and antagonist. In The Chocolate War, the protagonist is Jerry, and the antagonist is Archie. Archie Castello is cruel through out the whole story, and I have decided to talk about him. He changes, however, a lot through the story (he gets worse). This essay will be about a boy who can never be truly happy.

First, Archie thinks everything should be about him. At many points in the book, Archie seeks to be the center of attention. Sometimes, Archie expects that the whole world should know of him. He will sometimes say to himself or others, A I am Archie!A or A How dare you challenge the great Archie!A This leads me into my second thought on Archie.
