The Call of The Wild by Jack London, is a fiction book about a St.Bernard and Scotch sheep dog named Buck. It is told in third person.This story takes place in the Yukon Territory in Canada around 1896. Buck the main character is the protagonist. Spitz is one of many Antagonists. He is a very harsh, and mean dog. He was nicknamed devil dog because of his ways. He is constantly fighting with the other dogs. Hal, Mercedes, and Charles are also antagonists. While looking for gold they buy Buck and his team, but they run out of food, and are terrible masters. Manual is also an antagonist, he kidnaps Buck and sells him in the night. Buck is one of many characters. He is a St.Bernard and Scotch sheep dog, that is loved by his master, Jude Miller, but all of that change when he is sold to be on a sled …show more content…
The three buy Buck and his team. They make terrible masters, as they run out of food.Dave, is A dog on Buck’s team. Dave get sick on one of the team’s journeys. In his stubbornness at this task, Dave is an example of gritty determination.Sol-leks, is an old dog on Buck’s team.He has more experienced than any other dog on Buck’s team.Curly, is A friend of Buck’s, they met on the way to the North. Curly then dies, when she tries to be friendly to a husky. This was a warning to Buck of the harshness of his new home. Judge Miller, was Buck’s original master.Manuel, is a gardener. He kidnaps Buck and sells him in order to pay off his gambling debts. I really liked this book. I would definitely like to read it again. My favorite quote is,He had never seen dogs fight as these wolfish creatures fought, and his first experience taught him an unforgettable lesson, I like this quote because, It shows how fast Buck learns. It may seem harsh, but it shows the truth. Curly was his friend and to see her die in front of her, it showed him how harsh the real world
