In The Crucible there is a man by the name of John Proctor who is a pretty stubborn guy, he has a lot of pride and honor. Reverend Hale who is another character in the book insists that John Proctor’s choice to hang instead of “admitting” that he was consorting with the devil is an act of excessive pride or stubbornness. I personally think that John Proctor was showing pride and being stubborn but I don't think that it was excessive, I think that it was a good amount. Proctor was standing up for what he believed in and he wasn't going to “admit” something that he didn't do. Would you? I wouldn't because the person that killed him would be in the wrong and would get their “karma” in the future. Let’s say you are accused of something very minor
