Who Is Responsible For Macbeth's Downfall

The character that I have chosen is Macbeth. The reason I chose Macbeth is he started out as a good guy, but he believed the witches’ prophecies and this is what led to his downfall. The four strongest personality traits that I think Macbeth possesses in the play is arrogance, greediness, disloyalty, and depression. This could happen to any person, if they felt compelled enough to do it like they have to do it to achieve something then they will. I am not saying that this is always a bad thing but in Macbeth’s case it was and what led to his downfall. The first trait possessed he becomes very arrogant because of the witches’ prophecies. This is shown when Macbeth says “But swords I smile at, weapons laugh to scorn, Brandished by man that’s of a woman born.” Macbeth is being so arrogant by saying that he laughs at men born of a woman who try to fight him because he is led to believe that he cannot be harmed now. This is shown in when Macbeth says “To be thus is nothing, but to be safely thus. Our fears in Banquo.” Macbeth is saying having Banquo being around scares him because Banquo may figure out that he murdered Duncan and have him killed. Macbeth then betrays him and has him murdered. This song is about Justin Timberlake and his lover who cheats on him and he finds out the hard way that she is with another man. In this song Justin Timberlake says “Don't want to talk about it I'm just so sick about it can’t believe it's ending this way” he is sick at the fact that is lover betrayed him and loved someone else.
