In the Tragedy Macbeth, written by William Shakespeare, a man by the name of Macbeth is given a prophecy by three witches. He was stated to already hold the title Thane of Glamis, but in the prophecy he is given two more Thane of Cawdor, and King. When he hears news of his newly earned title, Thane of Cawdor, he is convinced in the prophecies spoken by the witches. He is now forced by his wife, Lady Macbeth, to take his kingship through any means necessary. With this I believe Lady Macbeth is more responsible for the death of King Duncan than Macbeth, because she developed the plan, she deceived the king and his guards, and she questioned Macbeth’s manliness.
