Who Is Peter Pan A Hero

Improved Essays
Peter Pan is often seen as the protagonist of the novel, Peter and Wendy, because he appears throughout the story a lot. However, in the first draft of the novel Captain Hook was not included, and Peter was considered the villain. The other main character of the novel, Wendy, is clearly the protagonist. Like protagonists in other fictional stories, Wendy can be considered the hero of the story. She also served as a heavy influence on the characters and learned a lesson in the novel.
First, Wendy is the protagonist of the novel because she was the hero. From the moment that Wendy first had an encounter with Peter, she helped him by sewing his shadow back onto his body for him. From that moment, she continued to be a hero throughout the novel.

In the introductory chapters of Harper Lee’s To Kill A Mockingbird, Atticus Finch comes across as an astute and senile lawyer in his mid fifties with an adoration of literature and a slightly elusive scholarly attitude. Through Chapter 10, this characterization of him undergoes a noticeable transformation as the story progresses and he starts being seen less as mundane and unaccomplished and more as a hero. At the beginning of the novel Atticus’s actions and the physical descriptions the reader receives of him portray him to be elderly and feeble, however by the close of the chapter he comes across as quick-witted and sharp. In addition to this recent illustration, Atticus also ends up becoming heroic in the minds of his fellow townspeople,…

The character in a story is the main foundation in any story, essay, or any other form of writing. These characters not only give the writing a purpose, but present the irony, symbols, and conflicts in the stories. Without the main character there would not be any sort of writing. The main character may also be dynamic, which means the change as the story goes on, or they may be flat, which meants that they don’t change. From the many stories we read in our class, I fell in love with the character Rochelle, from the story “The Bride” by author Christine Granados.…

A main character, or protagonist, has been defined as having the most importance to the storyline and also does the most to support it. I think that Elizabeth Proctor in the Crucible is a protagonist. Elizabeth Proctor is a mother of two and husband to John Proctor. She is shown as being a proud, stubborn woman with a vindictive streak - this is shown in her reaction to the affair between her husband and their previous house servant, Abigail. She refuses to forgive John, despite his efforts and has trouble letting go of her anger.…

In the short of “The Myth of Prometheus” by an unknown author, Prometheus is the Archetypal Hero of the myth. He shows these characteristics by being the protagonist, answering the challenge, and sacrificing himself. Prometheus first shows he is a hero by being the protagonist of the myth when he tricks Zeus into taking the pile of offerings that is filled with fat and bone, instead of the better pile. This shows Prometheus as the protagonist because he tricks Zeus to advocate the cause of man. When Prometheus advocates for cause of humans, he shows himself to be the protagonist, which is a characteristic of an Archetypal Hero.…

A Raisin in the Sun is a play written by Lorraine Hansberry that debuted March 11, 1959. The play is written about a family that is living in Chicago in the midst of predudism and are barely holding on. In the play Peter Pan: Or, The Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, Pan is portrayed as an individual that walks the line and exists between a real and imaginary character. He does not fit into one category because he contains qualities of both fairies and humans. For example, Pan demonstrates human qualities by having emotions, such as being slightly narcissistic and having responsibilities like humans such as being the captain for the lost boys that he watches over. He plays the role of an imaginary character by having the ability to fly, being associated with magical fairies and living in a liminal world called Neverland with the lost boys. He represents being part of the fairy world by teaching the Darling children how to fly and pouring magical…
