Parents and guardians are the most important people in children’s life and they need to be informed on childhood anxiety disorders and their treatments because, if not, uninformed parents can actually make the child’s anxiety worse based on their actions and attitudes. Anxiety is often just a phase in children and after support it will go away. Parents assume that all anxiety will go away on its own; therefore, dismissing their child’s problem leaving the child engulfed in their fears and anxieties. Also parents need to be aware of how to support their child when they do end up having an anxiety disorder because the wrong reaction to anxiety can make it way worse. Yet one of the most common disorders is that of anxiety. Many will say that anxiety and worry is just a part of our human nature. To some extent that is true. As humans, we need some form of natural response to keep us out of dangerous situations. Yet for those who struggle with an anxiety disorder the response goes far beyond our natural humanistic response.…
McPherson, F., McGraw, L. (2013). Treating Generalized Anxiety Disorder Using Complementary and Alternative Medicine. Alternative Therapies in Health & Medicine, 19(5), 45-50. They particularly related this belief to those symptoms that cannot be reduced with traditional methods, such as medication and standard therapeutic treatments.…

These individuals had extensive experience in treating anxiety and other cognitive conditions, but all five of Daniel’s first therapists went about treating his anxiety in a similar way. They all asked him to talk about his anxiety. Daniel summed up his early experiences with therapists as effective as “taking aspirin for leprosy” (Smith, 2013, p. e1055). In each of these cases Daniel attempted to reach out to his therapist to connect with them, but only found vague and non-disclosure type communicative feedback. Daniel found talking about his anxiety helped, but only temporarily and the benefits from talking about his anxiety could come from his friends and family with similar results compared to his general…
A 27-year-old electrician is describing symptoms that do not meet the full criteria for any of the disorders in the anxiety disorders diagnostic class of the Diagnostic Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders (5th ed. ; DSM-5; American Psychiatric Association [APA], 2013); therefore, a diagnosis of other specified anxiety disorder is appropriate. However, it should be noted that the symptoms described are highly characteristic of generalized anxiety disorder (GAD) and meet 5 out of the 6 criteria for GAD. More information or further development is needed to determine if the client has GAD. For one, the client claims that he has many worries—e.g., worries that involve the health of his parents and his social approval level at work.…

Nyanaponika Thera (1972) believe that the physical suffering, in the old metaphor, is the ‘first arrow’. The first arrow is thrown to you by outside environments, but you have internally determined not to throw yourself a ‘second arrow’ of ‘reactive thoughts’. Young (1990) state that avoiding the first arrow (made by unwanted situations) may not be possible all the time, but you can find out how to campaign against your own ‘reactive thoughts’. Nowadays stress and depression are progressively felt around the world. The issue of anxiety may lead to problems of alcohol or drug, abuse and committing suicide, if it is considered unimportant (Albrecht, Albrecht & Cohen, 2012; McGorry, Purcell, Hickie, & Jorm, 2007).…
There are three different ways to handle anxiety disorder, behavioral, humanistic, and cognitive. I don’t usually like to write personal posts, but I’m making an exception this time around. I’ve dealt with anxiety and depression for a long time. I recall many nights spent as a kid not sleeping because of anxiety. I was never afraid of monsters under my bed, or of the dark. I was anxious over what school would bring the next day, how my future would turn out, and what my existence meant.…
Introduction: Attention Arousing and Orienting Material: I first became aware of anxiety when I was in high school. That’s when I realized I was different than everyone else, or at least from most. I couldn’t talk in front of the class or become friends with new people because I just couldn’t talk to anyone. The idea of people watching me was terrifying. Unfortunately, I didn’t know how serious anxiety could be when I was in high school.…

Anxiety is something I have always been accustomed to, and even some of my earliest memories involve that anxious, nerve stricken feeling in the pit of my stomach. I was always the shy kid in the class, something to grow out of once I grew older, except that was not the case at all. Anxiety and I have grown closer over the years, so much so, that I developed several crippling anxiety disorders that shaped my life and how I lived it. It came on during my high school years and it affected my school work, my home life, and just about every instance in between. I would wake up every morning filled with anxiety dreading the day ahead of me, and waiting for it all to be over.…
