Oskar Schindler, was not your typical hero that fought for his beliefs. Instead he was an imperfect man. He was an alcoholic, gambler, and a lady's man. At the beginning of World War 2 Schindler moved to Poland because he saw a chance of a new opportunity. He would open his factory employ Jews at starvation wages. This was his chance to become a successful millionaire! Schindler( Liam Neeson) likes to dress fancy and attend night clubs weekly to get on the good side of people. He buys Nazi officers and their girls caviar and champagne to get pictures with the top brass. Schindler has pristine black market contacts and is capable of finding cigarettes and brandy. He wants to start a factory selling kitchen utensils for the military to use. Authorities are glad to help him.

Schindler finds a Jewish accountant, Itzhak Stern( Ben Kingsley) and hires him to help him with the financial part of his business. Stern searches Krakow for Jews to hire for his business. At first Schindler is only for the money. Him and Stern both avoid truthfully discussing certain matters, so they don't get caught. While the Jews are working in his factory he makes sure to feed them well and keep them away from the Nazis.

In the film we also experience the holocaust in a sympathetic way. Amon Goeth( Ralph Fiennes) is Nazi commandant.

This heart-felt movie included people that were saved by Schindler in the credits. Schindler's list won several awards and received several nominations. It won 7 Oscars including best director, best screenplay, and cinematography. Other awards received were best director, best actor (Liam Neeson, and best screenplay in golden globe awards. They also received a few nominations such as Best sound, best makeup in Oscars.
