Who Is Nick Carraway Honest In The Great Gatsby

1. Nick Carraway seems too honest on PG 46 “ I even had a short affair with a girl who lived in Jersey City and worked in the accounting department.” he was being honest about having an affair with a coworker of his. I feel he is very honest because not many people would just come out and say they had an affair with a person they worked with. He could be looked at as dishonest because he did have an affair with Daisy and knew she was married but wasnt worried about it but it could be that Daisy wanted the relationship and not him.

2. The great Gatsby may be great because he does have a lot of money and that could make him great, but he has nobody to share his money with unless he has parties to show Daisy he had money. His greatness does not evolve over the book because all he wants to worry about is Daisy. Some people may think he was great because he was in the army and had money, but I don't think he helped out. He could have been perceived great because he did survive WW1 and became rich, even though his money came from bootlegging he had it. He did die and had no friends to show up so he wasn't great for alot of people.

I feel he was more of an observer and participant then a listener because if he would have listened to what needed to be done, he could have not been killed and he would have seen that Daisy wasn't really in love with him and just wanted his
