Like the different kind of vehicles, colors and buildings, everybody has a different personality. Shirley Jackson’s short story “Possibility of Evil” shows an example of a character that has their own personality. Miss Strangeworth is a old woman who lives in a small with people where she has her own personality. Miss Strangeworth character can be analyzed by considering what she does, what the narrator says about her and how other characters interact with her. First, Miss Strangeworth’s character can be analyzed by considering what she says and does. Miss Strangeworth is kind. She does nice things. She also says nice things to people. For example, in the short story “The Possibility of Evil” it contains, Walking down Main Street on a summer morning, Miss Strangeworth had to stop every minute or so to say good morning to someone or aks about someone about their health. The example is basically saying she stops to say good morning to somebody or ask about someone on how they are doing. This is one example that tells she is kind. She is selfish. There are a few things that can prove that Miss Strangeworth is selfish. For instance, In the short story “Possibility of Evil” it contains, Miss Strangeworth ever gave away any of her roses, although tourists often asked her. She never gave away any of her roses to people even when they asked which is selfish. People asked and she wouldn’t even give them one. Also in the short story “Possibility of Evil” it contains, The roses belonged on Pleasant Street, and it bothered Miss Strangeworth to think of people wanting to carry them away, to take them into strange towns and down strange streets. Therefore, These examples prove that she can be selfish and she can be rude. These examples also helped to prove she is
