I have watched live performance and interview of Michael Jackson. Michael was the youngest sibling in the Jackson Five, also known as the Jackson Brothers. Other members includes Jackie Jackson, Tito Jackson, Jermaine Jackson and Marlon Jackson.
Although he passed away on June 29, 2009 at age 50, his music still lives in many people’s heart. Michael Jackson was a singer, songwriter, dancer, and record producer. For over four decades, he was one of the best-selling and well-known singers worldwide. He is known as the “King of Pop”. As one of the top best-selling music artist, Michael Jackson’s music and dance moves have inspires many people across the world. I was curious about his musical journey and how he have influenced American music.

At first, the Jacksons began their performance during weekend and vacation; but soon within a few year, they have begun to travel across the country and internationally. Jackson Five have launched their first album in 1969, which includes top hits like “I Want You Back”, “My Cherie Amour”, and “Who’s Lovin You”. Michael Jackson was eleven years old when the first album launched and he was the lead singer in 10 out of 12 songs presented in the album.
Vocal style- Michael Jackson vocal style is very noticeable and distinctive, with a high pitch, soft tone. His vocal hiccup and breathless tone is his signature, almost anyone could easily recognize his voice when song is played. Many of us might only see the positive sides, where he earned his fame and lots of money. But after reviewing many of his interviews where he shared his daily and personal life, I realize that Michael Jackson have lost his freedom long ago when he have performed during Jackson Five era. Fan, paparazzi and security guards had followed him everywhere. The only place he could get his piece of mind and freedom was his private bedroom suite, where it was also off limited to his children. Although he was a great entertainer and always deliver joy to others; I can imagine the pressure he have been through. Although there are lots of negative news regarding Michael’s personal life, I have learned that he is a good person deep inside.
