Who Is Mark Twain A Hero

Mark Twain is one of the most famous and most loved author in the United States.Why is he such a beloved figure?Is it because he started out as a small author and slowly,but surely became an American sensation? Could it have been because he had a way of writing that made people feel connected to his books? Or was it because he was such a good person? It could be any of these. Mark Twain was all of these things and more.

Mark Twain is a true American author. An example of this is when he moved to New York in 1867. He moved to New York and almost immediately a man that he had known in San Francisco came up to him and suggested that he compile a volume of short stories. At that time all of the short stories were scattered all over the place. They were very hard to retrieve. Now there is a large volume of them, compiled by Mark Twain, was the start of his writing career. He only had a small sliver of reputation to go on, but he drew on that and got his volume of stories published(Twain). After that he grew increasingly famous, so famous, in fact, that he had money to travel overseas and start a career there as well. He always was loyal

He wrote with passion and the people loved his intense, passionate writing. He could write books that could make people laugh or cry, be cheerful or melancholy. For instance, he once sold a transcript to American Publishing Company of Hartford for ten thousand dollars. They wanted to illustrate it before they published it, but the illustrator stopped drawing the pictures for it. The people were aching to have it published. After a while Mark Twain went to the American Publishing Company of Hartford. He demanded that they published it. He wanted the people to stop asking about when it would come out.
