Marie Antoinette was born into the Habsburg Family on November 2, 1755. She was the daughter of the king and queen of Austria, Maria Theresa and Holy Roman Emperor Francis I . On April 19, 1770, Louis XVI and Marie got married. Marie had little interest in political affairs; she was headstrong and materialistic. Marie and Louis were very different from each other. Marie was social and outgoing while Louis was shy and indecisive. Marie and Louis failed to produce an heir after 7 years of marriage. Joseph II, Marie’s brother, was sent to France to guide them in the production of an heir. Marie spent most of her time in her private castle, The Petit Trianon.
