Magellan was discourteous to the men who sailed with him. Magellan had one of the captain of a ship in his fleet decapitated and quartered. He did this because the captain and other members of the fleet believe he was putting in danger and want to overthrow him. We know this because in the journal of the crew member know as the Genoese Pilot it say “Magellan ordered Gaspar de Quesada to be decapitated and quartered.” Magellan also left another one of his captain and a priest on an island. Magellan started this by setting Lupa Lupa village on fire. Lupa Lupa then attack Magellan and his men for burn down his village. In the heat of the battle most of Magellan’s men left him and went back to the ships. Magellan would die in this fight against Lupa Lupa. We know this because in the note on document E is say “Magellan began to threaten those who did not convert, and he burned a village on Mactan ruled by tribal chief named Lapu Lapu. In the battle the followed, Magellan was killed while many of his crew remained on their ships, despite knowing that there leader was in danger.” This show that many of his men did not think he was worth defending.
That is why Magellan was not worth defending. He was rude to his men. He did not feed the well. He started a battle the would be the place where he and some of his men would died.In all Magellan was someone you would not want to defend.Those are all the reason Magellan was not worth
