Who Is Lennie A Monster

In the novel Of Mice and Men by John Steinbeck Georgeś best friend Lennie is portrayed as a very innocent character throughout the story by his childish mind and actions but when looked into hard enough he displays many characteristics of a monster. Lennie is a monster that reveals that lack of control can be as harmful and dangerous as intentional evil. Lennie started showing in many situations throughout the book that he was a monster. Towards the middle of the story after George and Lennie have shown up to the farm to work there was a villain; Curley. Who had tried everything he could to get into an altercation with Lennie since the moment they met because he felt threatened that Lennie was bigger and stronger than him. Among the man times Curley had tried to pick a fight with Lennie, the one time he was successful it not work out the way he planned it to. One night Lennie, George, and a couple other guys were resting in their cabin when pugnacious Curley came in and started to start trouble with the guys in the cabin. In the middle of the novel when Slim's dog had a litter of puppies he gave one to Lennie because he saw how much he adored the little pups. One night shortly after he had gotten his puppy, he was sitting in the barn petting it when he started to get a little too rough and accidently killed it. After the puppy had died he looked at it and said ¨Why do you got to get killed? You ain´t so little as mice¨(Steinbeck 85).
