Through these “scary nightmare” stories, Landis is described to be a big-shadowed and scary, monster that had no loyal friends throughout all of his years at school. Landis used to plan revenges on all of those who did not show interest in being friends with him. The kids were always scared of this story because it is told that Landis will come to your room in the middle of the night and take your most prized possession if you have ever left a kid out of something or have not tried to be someone's friend. As the boys presented this information to the policemen at the local station, the policemen all turned to each other and started giggling and carrying on with “more important things”.
