King Duncan of Scotland was a very well-rounded king. He believed that a king should have order, and handle all things with grace. King Duncan was a trusting person, which was a bad thing. He also believed bravery and honor should be recognized. In other words, he was kind, yet a stern, king. A great example of King Duncan showing order is when Thane of Cawdor sides with the enemy during war against the Norwegians. Duncan ordered him to be executed. Macbeth had shown bravery and honor during that same war and King Duncan gave Macbeth the Cawdor title. (Act 1, Scene 2) Just like when he trusted the Thane of Cawdor, King Duncan also trusted the Macbeths. Lady Macbeth had told Duncan that they loved him and that he didn’t need his hermit's
